Customer Testimonial:
Sean quickly analyzed our site, market, and competition, then came back with a great list of ways to significantly increase our traffic. He’s easily one of the fastest and smartest marketers I’ve worked with.

Bidsketch

Project Overview:
Business:

Bidsketch is a proposal software business that helps customers create beautiful client proposals in minutes, and integrates directly in to most invoicing platforms such as Freshbooks.

Problem:

Bidsketch wanted to gain more traffic from organic search, specifically to feed in to their email list which is their highest source of converting business.

Solution:

We focused the majority of our campaign around building out content marketing resources such as proposal templates, proposal writing guides, worksheets, and ebooks that were all gated behind an email signup prompt. Each time someone entered in their email address on a dedicated landing page they would be sent the resource via email and be looped in to Bidsketch's marketing automation database.

We also focused on blog posts that would help create buzz around these resources, and help rank and give value on their own as well.

Process

The Bidsketch team came in with a wealth of data, a really savvy understanding of their audience and the content that had already been successful with them - and with a very pointed idea of what their project should be focused around. This really helped us take their knowledge and work around that with our services. We were able to perform Keyword Research to establish new opportunities, perform a Technical Audit to see if there were any structural changes needed on the site, and perform a Content Strategy to see if there were any potential blind spots they had toward their market.

After all of this we were able to produce large content pieces at scale as well as smaller acutely targeted content pieces that focused on high-converting keywords.

Solutions
Plan

The original scope of the project was primarily focused around planning and building out new large content assets that Bidsketch could use to get traffic at scale through search, but we wanted to cover our bases and ensure the technical structure of the site was solid and that we didn’t need to make any larger SEO updates before moving on to that production process. We performed a Technical Audit, Keyword Research, and Content Strategy to ensure we had checked everything thoroughly before proceeding.

Production

We were able to find a few technical issues that needed to be resolved on the site, and while Ruben’s team worked on this we were able to start producing large content assets with the data we gathered both from Ruben and through our Keyword Research. We had a good idea of what content would perform the best from Ruben’s previous content built on his blog and in his other resource sections. We were able to double down on our efforts on topics we already knew had traction, while also pursuing other avenues that had not yet been tested by the Bidsketch team.

Results:

In a 6 month period compared year-over-year we achieved a:

  • 52% Improvement in Organic Search Traffic from Google, from 171,100 searchers in 2013 to 256,000 searchers in 2014.
  • 120% Increase in total Conversions from Organic Search Traffic to the email list meaning the searchers we gained were more targeted and more likely to convert.

Simply effective marketing.
